Dr. Tila Bahri was born and raised in Iran. She graduated with distinction from the Hacettepe School of Dentistry program in Ankara, Turkey. After completing this program, she spent two years in Iran treating patients who were often medically compromised, with mental health disorders, and in desperate need of dental services.
Dr. Bahri attended the University of British Columbia for two years, obtaining her Canadian dental license in 2011. In past years, she has worked in several locations, including the Vancouver Eastside and Vancouver Island. She still offers her time to the Haida Gwaii Island community to help them with their dental and oral health care needs.
She completed a General Practice Residency in Saskatoon, focusing mostly on the treatment of children with dental trauma. Her primary focus in dental care is on prevention and creating healthy oral habits and routines for her patients.
Dr. Bahri enjoyed working with children so much that she decided to pursue pediatric dentistry further, completing her MSc and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at UBC/BC Children’s Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. During her practice at Chestermere, Alberta, she explored the introduction of clinical hypnosis in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Tila is an active member of the Canadian and American Academy of pediatric dentists.
She strives to fully support her team members resulting in the best possible patient outcomes. She speaks three languages (English, Farsi, and Turkish) and is keenly sensitive to cultural and demographical differences. Dr. Bahri continuously takes professional development courses such as clinical hypnosis to offer her patients the most effective and up-to-date treatments.
During her leisure hours, she enjoys travelling, spending time with family and friends, designing floral arrangements and recently has become active in local dance communities.
