We live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! With so many exciting things to do and see in Greater Vancouver every single day— why not explore some local family activities this weekend? Below are a few local activities in Greater Vancouver for the whole family to enjoy!

Granville Island

Granville Island has been a beloved part of Greater Vancouver since 1979 and with lots of local activities and festivals to participate in—it’s a great afternoon out for the whole family. While you’re at Granville Island, visit the Public Market for fresh vegetables, delicious baked goods and crafts. Stanley Park

Take a scenic drive around the beautiful Stanley Park, Greater Vancouver’s first and most cherished urban park! You can take a ride on the Stanley Park Miniature Train, take a walk along the seawall or have a picnic in one of many Stanley Park picnic areas. Stanley Park offers a number of local family activities for the entire family.

Greater Vancouver offers many local museums, some of which have free admission! Greater Vancouver has museums located in the downtown core and UBC, such as the Museum of Anthropology, the Museum of Vancouver, the Vancouver Maritime Museum and the Vancouver Police Museum—or community-oriented museums such as the Burnaby Village Museum. Go Hiking

Enjoy the beautiful trails and forests of Greater Vancouver by taking a hike in Coquitlam and Port Moody. Popular local trails include the Buntzen Lake Trail, Belcarra Park, Diez Vistas Trail and the Halvor Lunden. Go to the Beach

If the weather is warm outside, spend an afternoon at Surrey’s and White Rock’s beautiful beaches in Greater Vancouver. Meadows Maze

This summer, check out Meadows Maze in Pitt Meadows for a great local family activity in Greater Vancouver. See the animals at the petting zoo or taste some delicious homemade fudge. The 15 acre maze allows for some great family fun while you try to work together to explore and find your way out.

 

Capilano Suspension Bridge

The Capilano Suspension Bridge is one of the most popular and beautiful places to see in Greater Vancouver. Located in North Vancouver, the Capilano Suspension bridge is a great local family activity for all ages. You can walk along the suspension bridge and have an amazing view of the Capilano River, or take part in the Treetops Adventure through the evergreen forest.
