I graduated from dental school in 2002 from the University of Alberta and practiced as an owner and a lead dentist in Tuscany for 17 years. I’ve always enjoyed the vibrant downtown culture and I am excited to be part of a downtown practice where I can offer a variety of services to our patients. I perform all components of dentistry but am particularly interested in surgical procedures such as Wisdom teeth extractions, dental implants, and grafting procedures. Patient education is as important to me as the actual dental procedures; communication is key.

Doctors

Dr. Ashish Oommen graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD). Dr. Oommen is a General Dentist and has been practicing dentistry both internationally and in Canada for over 18 years. He looks forward to meeting new patients at Sandstone Dental and providing dental care for the communities of NW Calgary.

Dr. Oommen is extremely passionate about dentistry, and his first priority is always the patient’s well-being. He especially enjoys working with children and tries his best to make sure they have a fun and positive experience. He is also trained to offer dental sedation options to help an anxious and nervous patient relax during their dental treatment.

Dr. Oommen has volunteered with “Kindness in Action” in Ecuador, “Dentistry From The Heart” in Northern Alberta and is currently volunteering with “The Alex Dental Health Bus” in Calgary, which provides oral health services to children and youth at schools in low-income, high-need areas. He is a member of the Alberta Dental Association and College and the Canadian Dental Association.

In his spare time, Ashish enjoys bicycling on the trails in Calgary and Banff. He is also big foodie and love trying all the amazing restaurants in Calgary.
