Dr. Omid Shafiey earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S) degree from the University of Tabriz in 1997 and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (D.M.D) from the University of British Columbia in 2010. He is interested in all aspects of dentistry, in particular how dentistry can affect a patient’s comfort and experience. Dr. Shafiey is perhaps best acknowledged for his ability to promote proper dental care and hygiene by allaying patient’s dental-related fears and anxieties. He is passionate about dentistry and has committed himself to excellence and leadership, and prides himself on being a quality practitioner.

Dr. Shafiey has continuous education training in various aspects in dentistry including root canal treatments, cosmetic dentistry, and dental implants. He studied Implant Dentistry at the Ickert Implant Centre and continues to devote many hours to improving his knowledge of techniques and technologies in dentistry.

He has passed his sedation study in DOCS Education Institute in San Diego, California and he is committed to providing gentle and compassionate dental care in an anxiety-free environment. He is also a certified Botox provider in cosmetics and TMJ therapy, an Invisalign Gold Provider, and he is a member of Align Technology.

Dr. Shafiey is an active member of Canadian Dental Association (CDA), British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA), College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, Docs Education, and Align Tech Institute.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, capturing special moments through photography, skiing, soccer, and swimming.

Dr. Felix Zhang completed his 1st Dental Degree in 1988 and received a Master Degree in Oral Surgery in 1991 in China. Dr. Zhang worked for 5 years as an oral surgeon before moving to Canada in 1996. He obtained a PhD Degree in Oral Health Sciences at the University of British Columbia in 2000 and a 2nd Dental Degree (DDS) in 2005 at the University of Alberta. Dr. Zhang worked in Calgary for 5 years and moved to Vancouver in 2010.

Dr. Felix Zhang currently working as a General Dentist in multiple offices performing tooth extractions in the lower mainland of British Columbia.

Dr. Aman Arora completed her bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery from India and then volunteered to provide high quality dental care to retired army personnel in India.

She continued her studies at the University of Alberta where she received her DDS Dental Degree. She enjoys the challenges of providing top quality care to her patients in a gentle caring manner and her patients feel comfortable with her mild approach. She places a strong emphasis on communicating with each patient to facilitate informed decisions.

Dr. Arora is happily married to a loving and caring husband and is mother of precious little boy. She enjoys spending time with family, friends and loves travelling.

Dr. Kerry Chin has been serving generations of families in the Surrey area since 1989. Formerly located in Impact Plaza. Dr. Chin and his team are excited to continue to care for their patients here at Guildford Village Dental.

Dr. Kerry Chin received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Western Ontario. He is passionate about his profession and is a life long learner. He feels fortunate to have practiced in an era that has seen such massive improvements in dental care, techniques and materials.

Dr. Kerry Chin enjoys all water sports particularly scuba diving, and sailing. Other favourite pastimes include skiing, snowboarding, and cycling. His hobbies include woodworking and home improvement projects. Dr. Chin is an avid hockey fan and has enjoyed watching his sons play the game over the years.

Dr. Fatemeh Mortazavi Alavi completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Concordia University and obtained her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from McGill University in 2020.

She started working as a General Dentist in Toronto in 2020 and eventually moved to Vancouver.

She is a member of the College of Dental Surgeons of BC (CDSBC) and the British Columbia Dental Association (BCDA).

She is fluent in English and Farsi.

Her dental philosophy centers on quality care that relies on patient education and open communication. She enjoys working with all patients, especially kids and uses her gentle personality to help ease dental anxiety.

Outside of the office, she enjoys hiking, cooking and watching documentaries.
