Dr. Rodney Shainbom graduated with his dental degree from the University of Witwatersrand and operated his own private practice in Johannesburg, South Africa for 15 years, before immigrating to Canada in 1996. After working as an associate, he opened his own private practice in 2001 in West Vancouver, BC, and just sold that clinic due to his relocation close to the border. Due to the impeccable standard of training he acquired at “Wits”, Dr. Shainbom is proficient at all areas of general dentistry, including exams, restorations, endodontics, extractions and surgery. Specifically, he greatly enjoys the process of helping a patient achieve their goals for their dental health and their aesthetic appearance. Dr. Shainbom’s training and experience has made him an expert in fashioning crowns and veneers, as well as in completing grafting and other forms of surgery necessary to maintain functioning, comfort, beauty and enjoyment of one’s smile.

Dr. Shainbom believes that dentistry is a scientific art, where each person’s situation presents challenges and rewards that he is eager to address and to resolve, all with the patient’s full knowledge, input and guidance. Dr. Shainbom also continues his dental education in Canada and in the U.S., learning new skills and mastering innovations that improve patients’ outcomes and their dental care experience.

In his spare time, Dr. Shainbom enjoys outdoor activities with his wife, Vermeda, and with their animals, Zevi and Bob, as well as creative pursuits, such as painting, drawing and woodworking.

Dr. Rouzbeh Memar is a graduate of University of Toronto. He is passionate about comprehensive dental care and keeps up to date with latest advances in dentistry. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys video games, basketball and spending time with his family.

Dr. Tang grew up in the Greater Toronto Area and attained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto. From educating his patients about dentistry to developing a friendly rapport with them, he makes sure his patients fully understand their treatment and next steps. His dental philosophy involves life-long learning to provide treatment based on current scientific evidence and each individual’s needs and preferences. He can also provide services in Cantonese and Mandarin to suit patients’ needs. In his free time, Dr. Tang enjoys traveling, trying out new food, watching movies, and staying active.

Dr. Mottahed was born in the U.S but grew up in Vancouver. He received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Biology from the University of British Columbia and his dental degree (DMD) from Boston University. He is the new principal dentist of Mercato. He purchased the practice from Dr. M, his dad, in 2010 and has since updated the office with new dental and office equipment, software, as well as gave the office a facelift in 2011. Dr. Mottahed is also a Clinical Instructor at the University of British Columbia.

Dr. Chang has a true passion for helping people create beautiful smiles. She completed her degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto; and prior to studying dentistry completed a MSc. degree in biomedical art. Combining her interest and love for art and design with dentistry, she developed a strong passion for esthetic dentistry. Her goal is to always listen, care, and treat each and every patient with compassion and tenderness.

Dr. Jaesung Seo, originally from Seoul, South Korea, received his Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology from the University of Western Ontario and earned Masters in Dental Science (MSc) from University of British Columbia and Cum Laude Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from State University of New York at Buffalo in 2016.

After graduation, he practiced general dentistry in Las Cruces, NM, USA where he gained extensive surgical training and experience in dental implants and third molar extraction. He moved back to Canada to be close to his family and lives with his wife and two beautiful daughters in Abbotsford, BC and practices dentistry concurrently in Vancouver, BC and Bellingham, WA.

Dr. Seo is a member of American Dental Association, British Columbian Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and BITES Institute.

Dr. Rezaie received his DDS degree in 1998 and MSc (Endodontics) in 2003. Prior to moving to Vancouver, he had been practicing as an Endodontist for more than 5 years. In 2010, he graduated from the University of British Columbia Dental School and in 2013 successfully completed the Specialty Assessment Program from the University of Toronto to become a Certified Specialist in Canada. His hobbies are soccer and skiing.

Dr. M is a graduate of the University of Manchester in England. After serving one year as a dental house officer, he entered general dental practice. Dr. M has advanced training which has led to a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons as well as a Diploma in Orthodontics. Dr. M’s area of expertise is on cosmetic dentistry, particularly crowns and bridges. He currently holds a position as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia.
