Born in St. Catharines, Dr. Lain Vendittelli attended McMaster University where he received his Bachelor of Science. After graduating from McMaster, Dr. Vendittelli went on to the University of Western Ontario where he received his Bachelor of Education. In 1986, Dr. Vendittelli decided to pursue a career in Dentistry, as it was one of his childhood goals to do so. He graduated in 1990 and has been practicing in St. Catharines ever since. Dr. Vendittelli enjoys his family most, as well as music, dance, sports and a passion for classic automobiles.

Dr. Babak Shokati is a board certified prosthodontist (FRCDC). He received his dental degree (DDS) in 1998 and practiced general dentistry for several years before pursuing post-graduate education in dental biomaterials and prosthodontics. He obtained a Master’s Degree (MSc) in Dental Biomaterials (2007) and later on his dental specialty degree in Prosthodontics from University of Hamilton. Dr. Shokati is currently conducting a clinical study titled: “Long-term Complications Associated with Implant-supported Complete Fixed Dental Prosthesis”. He is also the course director of Undergraduate Biomaterials Science courses (DEN150 and DEN250) discipline of Biomaterials, Faculty of Dentistry, University of Hamilton. He has published several articles and abstracts in Canadian and international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Shokati is a Fellow of the Royal College of the Dentists of Canada (FRCDC) and a member of the Royal College of the Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO).

Dr. Jonathan J. Lok is a board certified dental anaesthesiologist trained to provide sedation and general anaesthesia for dental procedures. Dr Lok graduated from dental school in 2001 at the University of Hamilton and went on to complete a one year General Practice Residency at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. In 2004, Dr Lok completed a 2 year program in dental anaesthesia at The Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. He is one of a small yet elite group of dentists holding these rare specialty credentials. He is continually upgrading both his clinical skills and knowledge in order to provide the safest and most up to date personalized care available. Dr Lok is a part time clinical instructor in the graduate dental anaesthesia program at the University of Hamilton. His professional affiliations are:

Dr. Gebrael is a specialist in periodontics. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario, Faculty of Dentistry in 1998. Upon graduation, he completed a general practice residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in New York. He then completed his post-doctoral studies at Nova Southeastern University in Florida, and received his specialty diploma in Periodontics in 2002. Dr. Gebrael is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada in Periodontics. He is a member of the Ontario Society of Periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontology, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the Ontario Dental association. Dr. Gebrael’s area of expertise includes regenerative periodontal surgery to restore gum health, cosmetic gum surgery for smile enhancement, as well as dental implant treatment to replace missing teeth. He enjoys collaborating with other dentists in creating treatment plans that achieve the desired periodontal and restorative outcome. Dr. Gebrael is especially enthusiastic about his launch this year of “Dental Implant Science Digest”, an innovative interactive publication that will keep Hamilton dentists informed of the latest research findings in periodontology and implantology and their clinical application.

Dr. Markulin has been practicing in the Niagara region since his graduation from the University of Hamilton Dental School in 1967. During that time, he has built a reputation as a genuine and caring practitioner serving the best interests of his patients. Dr. Markulin joined Martindale Dental as an associate in 2009 after selling his Dental Practice to the Martindale group. Dr. Markulin is married and has six daughters and also has many grandchildren. In his spare time, Dr. Markulin enjoys traveling the world, and has a penchant for dancing.

Dr. Jainani was born and raised in Mumbai, India. She received her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences after which she gained extensive clinical experience in hospitals and private dental offices in Mumbai before pursuing her requalification in Canada. Dr. Jainani enjoys all facets of dentistry, including most notably, cosmetic dentistry and treating anxious patients to help them overcome their dental phobia. She places great emphasis on communication and a two-way treatment plan involving her patients’ oral health. She ensures that each patient receives the highest quality of care that meets their particular needs and concerns. She is extremely dedicated to her profession and this reflects in her commitment to continuous education through dental conferences and courses. Outside of the office, Dr. Jainani is passionately interested in all things culinary; be it cooking new dishes, trying out new restaurants locally or travelling and tasting the flavours of the world. She also enjoys reading , yoga, and cherishes the quality time she spends with her husband, family and friends. Dr. Makarin received his degree in Dentistry from National Medical University, Kiev, Ukraine. Shortly after, he completed postgraduate training in Prosthodontics. Because of particular interest in prosthetic dentistry, Dr. Makarin worked as a dental technologist for 5 years. As well, he completed Paramedic Program with Distinction at Conestoga College, Kitchener and worked as a paramedic in Ontario for several years. Dr. Makarin constantly participates in continuing education courses and is a member of several professional associations including Ontario Dental Association. Dr. Makarin enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry and always strives to make his patients’ dental experience comfortable and enjoyable. When Dr. Makarin is not helping people with their dental needs, he enjoys family time and maintains an active lifestyle.
